How it works
How to get a Spotify podcast transcript
Four steps, and the first three take a few seconds.
- Open the episode Open an episode on open.spotify.com that shows a Transcript tab - many shows have one. On YouTube, open any video with captions.
- Click Get transcript Click the extension icon. The side panel opens beside the episode, and one click reads the whole transcript.
- Check who is speaking When Spotify separates the voices, a table shows each one with a line it actually says and a timestamp that plays it. Type who it is; give two voices one name to merge them.
- Export or copy Download TXT, Markdown, Word, SRT or VTT, or copy the timed, plain or speaker view.
No audio upload, no waiting for a transcription, no pasting links into another website.
Who said it? Spotify does not say.
Spotify labels the voices in a transcript Speaker 1 and Speaker 2. A transcript like that cannot be quoted, cited or handed to a client.

How do I get a transcript of a Spotify podcast?
Open the episode on Spotify in Chrome, click the Transcript Extractor icon and then Get transcript. The extension reads the transcript Spotify already displays and lets you export it. It works on episodes that show a Transcript tab
Is it really free?
Yes. There are no plans, no trial and no credit card. Each account can get up to 100 transcripts a day, which is there to stop bulk scraping, not to limit anyone reading episodes.
Does Spotify show who is speaking?
Only anonymously. Spotify's automatic transcripts separate the voices as "Speaker 1", "Speaker 2" and so on, and never say who they are. Names appear only when a creator uploads their own captions. The extension shows you a line from each voice with a link to hear it, so you can type the right names in seconds.
Can I download a Spotify transcript as Word or SRT?
Yes - TXT, Markdown, Word (DOCX), SRT and VTT. When the speakers are named, the SRT and VTT subtitles say who is talking.
Does it transcribe the audio?
No, and that is why it is instant. It uses the transcript or captions the platform already shows. Audio is never downloaded.
Does it work with every Spotify episode?
Only episodes that show a Transcript tab. Many shows have one, but not all. An episode without one is never counted.
Does it work with YouTube?
Yes, on videos that have captions, with timestamps and all the same exports. YouTube's captions don't separate the voices, so there is no speaker table for YouTube videos.
Is there a limit on episode length?
No.
Why do I sign in with Google?
It keeps the extension fair to use: the daily limit applies per account, so nobody can use it to scrape transcripts in bulk. We only receive your email address. After you sign in we ask, once, whether you'd like the Antradus AI newsletter — either answer gets you the whole extension.
What happens to my data?
Transcripts are read in your browser and never sent to our servers, and no AI processes them. Our service only learns which platform, which episode or video, and how long it is. See the privacy policy for more details
