What it does: Turns a single idea, article link, or YouTube video into a topic cluster — one long overview article plus several deep dives, all written and linked to each other automatically.

Why a cluster beats one long guide
It’s tempting to answer a subject with one enormous article. In practice, a set of connected articles wins: each one can rank for its own question, and together they read as genuine coverage of the subject rather than a single opinion. AI assistants weigh this even more heavily than search engines do — a linked set on one subject gets cited noticeably more often than a standalone post.
The shape is a pillar and its spokes:
- The pillar is the overview. It covers the whole subject at survey depth and links down to every deep dive.
- Each spoke answers one specific question properly, and links back up to the pillar.

Step 1 — Say what it’s about
Three ways in:

Step 2 — Choose how big

There’s a reason for those limits. Below six, there isn’t enough coverage to read as authority. Past fourteen, the subtopics start overlapping and the writing gets padded to fill the slots — which is exactly what the plugin’s anti-fluff rules exist to prevent. Eight to twelve is the sweet spot.
Step 3 — Check the plan
Click 🧭 Plan the cluster. You get the pillar plus every proposed article, with its focus keyword, and one line explaining why the AI split the subject that way.
Nothing is written yet. Untick anything you don’t want, rename anything clumsy, fix any keyword. The pillar is required — it’s what everything else links to.
Where the posts get filed
Two ways to set the category:
- Pick one yourself from the CATEGORY dropdown. It follows the POST TYPE box above it, so choosing Product shows your product categories, not your blog ones.
- Let the AI choose — tick "Let the AI pick one category for the whole cluster". It checks your existing categories first and only invents a new one when none of them genuinely fits.
The AI picks one category for the entire cluster, not one per article. That’s deliberate: a cluster is a single subject, and scattering eleven articles across eleven categories undoes the grouping that makes it work in the first place.
Because the choice is made while the plan is being drawn up, it costs nothing extra — no second request. It appears as an editable box under the plan, so you can rename it before you approve, or clear it to fall back to the dropdown. A name that doesn’t exist yet is created for you.
Step 4 — Write it
Pick when the posts should go live (drafts, immediately, or dripped), then click 🚀 Write this cluster. It goes into the ordinary publishing queue, so you keep the progress view, retry on failure, and everything else Bulk Publishing does.
What each article is told
This is what stops a cluster being ten articles that all say the same thing.
- The pillar is asked for 2,500–3,500 words at survey depth, is given the list of every deep dive, and is told not to try to be the last word on any of them.
- Each spoke is asked for 900–1,400 words on its own question, is given the titles of all its siblings, and is told explicitly not to re-cover their ground.
Neither is allowed to write "see our other article" or invent a link — links are added properly afterwards, by the plugin.
The links
Cluster articles are always linked to each other. That isn’t a checkbox here, because a cluster without its links is just a batch.
Once the last article is written, the linking pass runs in hub-and-spoke shape: every spoke links up to the pillar, the pillar links down to every spoke, and spokes link sideways only where they genuinely overlap. As always, links are wrapped around words already in the text — see Internal Linking.
Cost and time
A cluster is N+1 articles, so a 10-spoke cluster costs roughly what eleven articles cost, plus one small request each for the planning and the linking. Featured images are off by default for the same reason — eleven images is eleven separate paid requests.
Keep the Queue tab open and it runs at full speed. Close it and WordPress’s own scheduler takes over, which is slower and needs the site to be visited — the Queue tab tells you exactly what’s happening.
When it refuses
If the AI can only find one angle on your subject, it says so and suggests writing a single article instead. That’s a real answer, not a failure — some subjects genuinely don’t have ten questions in them.
